Abstract

The purpose of present study was to evaluate the predictability of simultaneous placements of dental implants with maxillary sinus augmentation without bone graft material using absorbable gelatin sponge. The study consisted of nine patients treated with maxillary sinus augmentation with insertion of absorbable gelatin sponge and simultaneous placement of dental implants. Implants were uncovered after 6 months healing period. Final prosthesis were fabricated after 3 months progressive loading. Based on the pre-operative and post-operative dental cone-beam computed tomography, this study suggest that placement of dental implant on the area of maxillary sinus with gelatin sponge appears to be predictable procedure for maxillary sinus augmentation.
